Picking up !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , my partner scrubbed the entire exterior with Simple Green & a Scotchbrite pad. She got some of the white paint off and all of the grime & moss, but it still looks like hell.

Kinja'd!!!

While she was at that I cut off the old coupler and safety chains, ground down & repainted the tongue, and installed new ones. The first foot is restored, now I just have to keep working backwards. I also started running new wiring.

Kinja'd!!!

I also used some spare brackets that came with the new coupler to make some trailer light mounts. Still need to drill holes to mount the lights to them.

Kinja'd!!!

I need to run the wiring & install the lights, then locate some better tires and it will at least be safely towable.

Cost so far:

$150 - Trailer

$35 - coupler

$25 - chains, bolts, links

$1 - scotchbrite pad

$0 - trailer wiring loom(from spares box)

$0 - tail light bracket(spare coupler brackets)

Total : $211

these are the kind of progressive updates I enjoy seeing. Keep them coming!
Any reason you used logic to mount the brake lights where they normally are instead of sticking with the high mount?

My theory was this is where people expect brake lights to be, and so look for them there. Plus the high ones seem like they are perfectly positioned to be smashed loading & unloading stuff from the roof of the trailer.

I will probably get some little LED lights like these and mount them high up on the back, also going to use some amber ones to add running lights above the side steps.

Excellent! Depending on what you do, a good work light would be nice mounted up there. Could also double as a back up light just for kicks.

This I’m sure could be a post on its own, but any more thoughts on the direction you’re going to take it?

In the short term I’m just trying to fix the various issues with it. It is probably going to get temporary Vault-Tec logos and be used as a prop/decoration at a local convention next month who’s theme is post-apocalypse.

My partner and I host tea parties in random locations with friend regularly during the summer, so we’ve been joking about turning it into a fake British military “Tea Party Deployment Unit”, with a folding table on top, folding chairs, tea cups & saucers, linens, tea, stove, kettle, etc. all in their own compartments inside.

that actually sounds kind of fun. I know that would work well in my area as a business. That kind of hip stuff seems to really hit home for the cool kids.
